Live MedTech startup pitches and $40,000 in prizes at Regal Edwards Big Newport

Five MedTech startups will pitch live in a movie theater, with their decks projected on the full cinema screen at Regal Edwards Big Newport.

Join them Wednesday, November 18 from 1:30PM to 4:30PM at Regal Edwards Big Newport, 300 Newport Center Dr., Newport Beach, CA 92660.

They are competing for $40,000 in cash prizes, provided by Octane. Grab some popcorn (it's free), find a seat, and watch alongside investors, clinicians, and industry leaders.

This is the championship finale of Grand Rounds, a MedTech accelerator run by LaunchPad SBDC, part of the Orange County Inland Empire SBDC Network, in partnership with Octane. This fall, Grand Rounds selected 10 medical innovation companies from Orange County and Southern California and worked with them over 10 weeks to get them ready to raise. Modeled after clinical grand rounds, each company became the case. Founders went through a 25-criterion investor readiness diagnostic, scored checkpoints, specialist advising, and targeted workshops on strategy, go-to-market, regulatory narrative, and fundraising materials. They also met with VIP executives who gave candid, founder-focused feedback on building and scaling in MedTech.

This year's cohort covers medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health: Bilisense, Cardiostory, Cern Corporation, F-U Cancer, ImageAiD, InFlo Medical, Omaroon, Omnes Diagnostics, OORCAS, and Paralos Bioscience. Five of them will advance to the finale.

Who should come: investors, MedTech and life sciences founders, clinicians, corporate partners, and anyone in the OC startup community who wants to see investor-ready companies at the moment they're preparing to raise. It's a good afternoon to meet founders, see where medical innovation in Southern California is headed, and connect with others working in healthcare and medical technology.
