As Managing Principal at Fairbanks Venture Advisors (FVA) and Operating & Investment Partner at Portola Valley Partners (PVP), Joy helps founders refine their business models, secure funding, and scale successfully. At PVP, she helped launch the Silicon Valley Women Founders Fund and contributed to the award-winning documentary Show Her the Money, which highlights the challenges and triumphs of women entrepreneurs in the investment landscape.

With a background in venture capital, investment strategy, and startup growth, Joy has advised over 100 tech founders per year and worked with top accelerators, including Techstars, Village Capital, and the Long Beach Accelerator. She has also served as faculty at Columbia Business School, leading impact venture incubators and organizing the university’s first cross-campus startup hackathon. Joy’s expertise in financial forecasting, fundraising, and investor relations makes her a sought-after mentor for startups navigating the complex world of venture funding.
