A Conversation with Startup Leaders by Engine
Join Engine and a panel of startup leaders for a discussion about the barriers that underrepresented startup founders face.
Join them Tuesday, November 16 from 9:00AM to 9:40AM online.
Engine will convene a panel to discuss how and why the startup ecosystem must expand diversity within its ranks—from founders to engineers and investors. Diversity in the tech startup community is not yet reflective of U.S. society, and underrepresented founders are at a stark disadvantage when accessing the capital, training, networking, and other resources they need to build their businesses. Yet it is undeniable that underrepresented innovators have vital contributions to make to tech and our economy, and when they are unfairly excluded we all lose out.
During this virtual event a panel of startup founders and ecosystem leaders will discuss the challenges that underrepresented founders face and how policymakers can better support their work. This coincides with Engine publishing an assessment of existing challenges and how policymakers can create opportunities to make the startup ecosystem more equitable.
The event's discussion will be moderated by Engine’s Policy Manager, Jennifer Weinhart, and feature expert panelists including:
Laura Butler, Executive Director -- Pioneers 21
Renee King, Founder & CEO -- fundBLACKfounders
Thkisha Sanogo, Founder & CEO -- MyTAASK
The event will begin at 12 p.m. ET (9 a.m. PT) on Zoom. Upon registration, you will receive an email with the Zoom link and information about joining.
